PM Club is SJSU's home for students who want to understand how great products are built — and land the roles that build them. Whether you're in engineering, business, design, or something completely different, you belong here.
A Product Manager (PM) is the person who answers the question: "What should we build, and why?"
A PM sits at the intersection of technology, business, and design. They understand users deeply, set strategy, and work with engineers and designers to ship products that people actually love.
PMs are some of the most sought-after roles in tech. Companies like Google, Apple, Meta, and thousands of startups in Silicon Valley are always looking for great PMs, and SJSU sits right in the middle of all of it.
You don't need a specific major to become a PM. The field rewards curiosity, communication, and the ability to think about problems from multiple angles — skills you're building right now, no matter what you study.
PM Club is career-first, but still community-driven. We built it specifically for the gap between what SJSU classes teach and what tech companies actually want.
We teach frameworks PMs use at Google, Meta, and top startups — user story mapping, PRDs, roadmapping, and more. Stuff that comes up in interviews and on the job.
CS, Business, Psychology, Engineering, Communications, Biology — we've seen it all. Great PMs come from everywhere. Your background is an asset, not a blocker.
Work on real product cases and projects you can put on your résumé. Not just theory — actual deliverables that demonstrate PM thinking to any recruiter.
SJSU sits at the heart of tech. We leverage that with company tours, speaker panels from local PMs, and networking events that put you in the room.
Connect with students across all years and majors who are on the same journey. Study groups, mock interviews, and a Discord community that's actually active.
It's completely free to be a member. No dues, no gatekeeping. We believe every SJSU student should have access to these opportunities regardless of background.
Product management is one of the few careers where your unique background is genuinely celebrated. An engineer brings technical depth. A business student brings market intuition. A designer brings empathy. A psychology major brings understanding of human behavior.
We've had members from almost every college at SJSU, and each one brought something the others didn't. That mix of perspectives is exactly what makes a great PM team.
No prerequisites. You don't need prior PM experience, a specific major, or even a career plan yet. Come curious, leave with clarity.
Workforce-ready skills. Every workshop, case study, and event is designed around skills hiring managers actually ask about.
Industry access at SJSU. We're one of the only clubs on campus with active connections to Silicon Valley PMs and companies.
Community over competition. We help each other level up through peer feedback, mock interviews, and shared resources.
Student-led, student-first. Run entirely by SJSU students who've been in your shoes and want to make the path easier.
All SJSU students, all passionate about making PM accessible on campus. We've been in your shoes — that's why we built this.
Join for free, show up curious, and leave with the knowledge, network, and confidence to pursue a career in product. No experience required, just a willingness to learn.
